It had been quite a weekend full of laughter. I spent my weekend out with the girls. I would say that they're are of the same clan but not quite connected despite the fact that they have me in common. :) They somehow triggered my thoughts on the true meaning of friendship.

I flipped through the dictionary just to realise that 'friend' is defined in such a simplistic manner; a person you know well and like, and who is not usually a member of your family. A person that I know well and like. Hmm, there are only a few that I can categorise them according to this definition. But, somehow, I feel really blessed to have a few of them, both quality and the appropriate quantity.

Everyone defines friendship differently. Well, my perception of friendship is rather straight-forward. To believe and trust forms the crust of a long-lasting friendship. Hiding any dissatisfaction from any of them seems to be something intolerable. So, now everyone knows where I hide my dirty secrets..

I believe in my girls and to shy away my true colours is a big No-No. At times, I do throw tantrums, whether it's because I really dislike it or I'm just frustrated. They stood by me no matter what, lucky me. Friends are those who will not hesitate to yell and shout at you when you go wrong. Maybe some might disagree with me but that's how I deal with my besties. You can say that I'm mean but being mean doesn't mean I'm evil. I've just chosen a more aggressive way to deliver the message. If one couldn't take it, probably we're just not fated to be the best of friends.

'Friendship', how simple a term it can be, but many might not apprehend the hidden meaning that lies within. Perhaps, it can be seen in a way where 'friendship' should be a No pain, No gain situation. When there's no 'pain' (heated arguments over disagreements), there will be no 'gain' (to further appreciate each other). So, what's your stand?
